Fresh 48: The First Chapter Starts Here
Those first 48 hours are filled with moments you’ll never experience quite the same way again—and they pass in the blink of an eye. Our Fresh 48 newborn sessions take place in the quiet, intimate setting of your hospital room, documenting the beautifully unfiltered beginning of your baby’s story. From the birth itself, if desired and permitted, to those first introductions, tiny fingers and toes, sleepy naps, first feedings, family hugs, and the way you hold your baby for the very first time, we capture the details and emotions that make those hours so incredibly meaningful. These sessions are private, intimate, and completely baby-led, with a focus on genuine connection rather than posed perfection.
Serving local hospitals and families throughout the Delaware beach area, Fresh 48 is about preserving the little things you may not realize you’ll miss until they’re gone—the hospital bracelets, the wrinkly toes, the first cuddles, and the overwhelming feeling of, "we’re finally here".
There is nothing quite like those first hours together. A Fresh 48 session takes place at your baby’s place of birth—typically in the hospital, or at home following a home birth—and documents your little one exactly as they are when they first enter the world.
Sessions are generally photographed at least 24 hours after a vaginal delivery and 48 hours after a C-section, giving you time to rest, recover, and settle in. Many families choose the day after delivery or the morning before discharge.
Fresh 48 photography is a little different from birth photography. While birth coverage documents active labor, delivery, and those first golden hours, a Fresh 48 focuses on the quiet after: your new baby, your changing family, and all those tiny firsts you’re experiencing together.
I’ll document the moments that naturally unfold—first snuggles, sleepy yawns, feedings, diaper changes, sibling introductions, tiny smiles, and maybe even a first bath—along with the details you’ll never want to forget: wrinkly toes, tiny fingernails, hospital bracelets, belly buttons, the bassinet, receiving blanket, and even the view from your hospital room.
These sessions aren’t meant to feel perfectly posed or polished. They’re intimate, delicate, emotional, and beautifully real. You just had a baby! My job is to quietly preserve this fleeting little chapter before it changes—because somehow, you blink, and that tiny hospital baby is smashing their first birthday cake.
