Since 2012, founder and creative director Maggie Cullen has captured the hearts of hundreds of families, children, and couples each year. With a background in fashion and a deep appreciation for the timeless elegance of old Hollywood photography, Maggie brings a refined, artistic eye to every session. Her signature black and white edits—carefully hand-finished for a modern, striking look—have become a client favorite.
After starting her own family, Maggie discovered that her most cherished portraits of her children were the simplest ones: natural expressions, cozy outfits, and honest moments against a clean white backdrop. As she began sharing these personal images on social media, clients quickly took notice—and started asking for the same.
In response, Mini. Icon was born in 2024. This specialty portrait experience celebrates kids just as they are—genuine, confident, and full of personality. Now available for pop-up events, private parties, and in-home sessions, Mini. Icon offers a stylish and stress-free way to create artful, authentic portraits your family will treasure forever.

During each session, photographer Maggie Cullen takes the time to truly connect with your child—asking playful questions, playing music, and creating a relaxed, fun atmosphere that brings out natural smiles, quirky expressions, and genuine personality. Whether it’s a toothy grin, a crinkled nose, or a shy giggle, Maggie’s goal is to capture your child just as they are.
A clean white backdrop and small stools are used to keep the setting simple and comfortable. For younger children who aren't quite ready to sit on a stool, a floor-based setup with the same minimalist backdrop is available—perfect for classic sitter portraits.
To personalize each session, Maggie offers a curated selection of child-friendly props, while also encouraging little ones to bring their own favorite items—be it a beloved stuffed animal, a pair of fun sunglasses, or a treasured toy. These meaningful touches help make every portrait session uniquely theirs. Of course, props are always optional—the true focus is on your child and their one-of-a-kind spirit.

A simple white or dark-colored t-shirt is all your child needs. To keep the focus on their expressions and personality, we recommend minimal, distraction-free clothing—classic tees or tops work best. Hairstyles should be natural and comfortable, with optional accessories like a bow, headband, or hat if your child enjoys wearing them.
Most importantly, your child should feel good in what they’re wearing. If there’s a favorite outfit they love, it’s always welcome! The clean, timeless look of a simple tee also ensures that your final digital images and prints will blend beautifully into any space. These portraits are meant to be more than just photos—they’re modern heirlooms, designed to be displayed year-round in any room of your home.
