I'm Maggie Cullen, founder and creative director of The Pixel Dust Company—a photographer, designer, and lifelong creative who believes every story deserves to be told beautifully.
With a background in fashion and design, I blend editorial style with genuine emotion to create portraits that feel timeless, colorful, and full of heart. My work is inspired by couture, childhood wonder, fairy tales, and yes... a little sprinkle of Disney magic. Whether I'm photographing a growing family on the beach, welcoming a newborn into the world, celebrating a wedding day, or creating an entirely new brand identity with custom logos and graphics, my goal is always the same: to create something that feels authentically you.
I've always been captivated by color.
Brand-new crayons were my favorite. Bold pastels made me smile. I proudly painted my bedroom hot pink—with an ultra-gloss finish, of course. Lisa Frank folders filled my backpack every school year, and I could spend hours with my Fashion Plates designing outfits and dreaming up entire collections on paper.
Looking back, I realize creativity wasn't just a hobby—it was simply who I was.
I also owe so much of that creative eye to my mom. If she couldn't find the perfect accessory to match one of my outfits, she would make it herself. Bows, ribbons, embellishments... she understood that the smallest details often make the biggest impact. That lesson has stayed with me throughout my career and is one of the reasons I believe a single prop, a favorite dress, a tiny pair of shoes, or even a beautifully textured blanket can spark an entire portrait session.
Today, that same curiosity and imagination fuel everything I create. From whimsical children's portraits and heartfelt family sessions to luxury branding, live event illustration, and visual storytelling, I approach every project with intention, creativity, and the belief that beautiful design should always evoke emotion.
Based along the East Coast with a beach-town heart, I'm here to help you preserve memories, celebrate milestones, and create artwork you'll treasure for years to come.

I can honestly say that I am living the dream.
I'm living proof that when you pour your heart into your work, embrace your creativity, and never stop learning, incredible things can happen. Photography is so much more than owning a camera—it's having the ability to see beauty, emotion, color, and connection in a way that tells someone's story. That creative eye is something I have nurtured my entire life, and I'm grateful every day that it has become my career.
People often ask what success looks like. The truth is, it isn't awards or numbers.
Success is the families who return to me year after year and trust me to document their lives as their children grow. It's the hugs from excited little ones, the happy tears from new moms seeing their gallery for the first time, and the messages years later saying, "These are still my favorite photos."
Of course, I'm incredibly honored that my work has been published and printed by The Walt Disney Company, and to have been recognized as one of Parents.com's Top 50 Child Photographers in the United States for 2026. Those milestones are deeply meaningful to me, but they're simply reminders that following your passion with consistency and authenticity can open extraordinary doors.
My inspiration has always come from the things that make me feel like a kid at heart: children's fashion, timeless fairy tales, European charm, beautifully designed nurseries, vintage storybooks, and thoughtful details that spark imagination. Those influences find their way into every portrait I create, blending editorial style with genuine emotion to create artwork that feels magical, timeless, and unmistakably personal.
At the end of the day, my greatest accomplishment isn't recognition—it's knowing that I've helped preserve memories that families will cherish for generations. That's the kind of success I've always dreamed of.
